Ice Cream for breakfast? Of course you can! Yonanas turns frozen bananas and any additional fruit and/or chocolate into a treat with the silky-smooth texture of frozen yogurt or soft-serve ice cream, but without the additional fat, sugar, or preservatives. Yum!
Yonanas turns frozen fruit and other flavorings into a delicious, healthy soft-serve treat. The unit combines frozen bananas and any additional fruit or chocolate and instantly churns the ingredients to produce a treat with the texture of frozen yogurt or soft-serve ice cream, but without the additional fat, sugar, or preservatives. The chute easily accepts berries, sliced mango, or cantaloupe along with frozen banana, and the integrated spinning blade mashes and incorporates the fruit into a silky-smooth confection with the texture of soft-serve ice cream or yogurt. The chute, plunger, and blade are dishwasher safe.
Ice Cream for Breakfast? Why Not!
The recipes suggestions for the Yonanas are very simple. You’d typically use 2 frozen bananas as a base and about 3/4 – 1 cup of frozen fruit like strawberries, peaches, mangoes, etc. This makes a nice sized portion for 2 people, but you probably would need to double the recipe if you’re making it for 3 or 4 people.
Just a warning: Do NOT put fruit in directly from out of the freezer. Let it defrost about 15 minutes. Supposedly rock hard fruit can ruin the machine (the instructions pamphlet that comes with the machine also gives this warning).
Also the machine is really not that noisy, in my opinion, but be advised that it’s not completely silent.
My favorite blends range from simple: banana with strawberry, to much more creative: pina colada. Add a handful of frozen pineapple chunks in with your bananas. Top with shredded coconut and it’s like a pina colada!
What about trying 2 bananas and mixing 2 tbsp of Nutella?
